To the gym!

I went to the gym this afternoon after probably a month without, the longest gym-free span in a year and a half.  I was lazy, and the gym seemed so far away, and it was all hot outside and stuff.

So I went today and read one People magazine featuring an exclusive interview with post-jail Paris Hilton, and brought home the latest People for next time, and the August issue of Marie Claire to read at home.

I was surprised to see that their scale said I had only gained 1.5 pounds since I last weighed myself on it.  I feel pudgier and sluggish and it’s definitely time to start going back.  Exercise every day is essential for a healthy body and mind.  It’s not as convenient now that my work moved to a new location.  Maybe my next big purchase will be an elliptical machine, which I will use most days in the comfort of my own home.  I don’t know where it would go, though.  In the living room?  Wedged in a corner of the bedroom?  Out on the balcony starting in the fall?

If I lived in a three bedroom house we could each have our own work rooms.  He’d have an office space to himself, and I would have a room with a desk, my sewing machine and supplies, and an elliptical machine.

Note: search for housing rentals.  Must allow dogs.  3 bedroom, 2 bathroom.  Fenced yard & doggy door ideal.  Garage or carport optional.

I haven’t been to the gym in more like 3 months. You think YOU are feeling chubby?!

We did just buy a treadmill though, and it should be arriving within a week or so. I can hardly wait! Especially if it has one of those little ledges on the top for books…
