“Forgetting Sarah Marshall”

I watched “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” again and I really liked it, again.  We went through some of the DVD extras like screw-ups and many improvised lines from the same scene that they didn’t end up using.  A++++++ Would do business with again.

Sharks lose, out of the playoffs in round 1

The Sharks crashed out of the playoffs, becoming the fifth team since 1968 to finish the regular season with the best record and then lose in the 1st round.  The last time was when the Detroit Red Wings were ousted just a few years ago, and the time before that was when the St. Louis Blues lost in 2000… to the Sharks.

Preseason games for San Jose will start in September, five months away.  There will likely be a few big name players traded or retired before then.  This was supposed to be the year they finally shook that label of playoff disappointments, and instead they didn’t even make it to a game 7 in the first round.  I hope Marleau doesn’t get traded — I just got this jersey for Christmas and I really like it.  I’m wearing it right now, not that it did any good.

What’s next after “Dawson’s Creek”?

My friend and I are several episodes into the sixth and final season of “Dawson’s Creek” and we’re not sure what to do when the series is done; we started it last summer.  I’m considering “My So-Called Life” or “Felicity”, both of which I didn’t watch the first time around.  I suppose I could just cancel my Netflix account because I got it for the express purpose of watching “Dawson’s Creek”, but I like having access to any movie or show.

Good Saturday

I woke up a little after 10 this morning and was surprised to find that I was awake for the day and it was still before noon.  I listened to my favorite radio broadcast, “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me” on NPR, from 11:00 to 12:00 with the dog asleep beside me on the couch.  I ate leftover homemade mashed potatoes, mushroom gravyy, and brussel sprouts with fresh sliced strawberries as dessert.  Then I switched to my new favorite Pandora station: “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tiffany, lots of delightful ’80s pop.  I did a few loads of laundry, emptied the dishwasher, and cleaned up the kitchen.  At 1 o’clock the final regular season Sharks game started and I’ve been listening to the radio feed.  The Los Angeles Kings are winning 4-2 with 13 minutes remaining in the game.  San Jose will likely still win the Presidents Trophy for best regular season record because the other team in the running, Boston, is losing 5-0 against Buffalo.  Unless the Bruins have a crazy comeback in the last eight minutes of their game, the Sharks will clinch #1.

I have banana bread baking in the oven and a veggies & dip snack next to me left from the potluck at work yesterday.  In two hours one of my friends is coming to pick me up for dinner at her place followed by some “Dawson’s Creek” and adult beverages and then possibly going out to a bar or club.

Hooray Patrick Marleau, he just scored on the power play so it’s now 4-3!  They can win this one yet!

What a pleasant Saturday.
