What I Wore to Work Today: Resurrected red heels

What I Wore to Work Today:
Cardigan: Target
Skirt & tank top: Goodwill
Belt: Xi, came with the shirt I wore yesterday
Shoes: Ross
Necklace: Claire’s

Inspired by the many belters whose choices I’ve been admiring lately (Surely Sonsy, Academichic, Scholar Style Guide, What Would a Nerd Wear…)  today I wore a cardigan with a belt over it, a purely decorative belt that wasn’t holding up anything or keeping anything in or doing anything else structurally important.

I also wore red shoes that had been resting in my closet for 18 months. I tried to wear them last week and remembered why it had been so long — the strap isn’t adjustable and kept slipping off my heel, especially on my slightly smaller right foot. They lasted ten minutes before I switched shoes.

Now they’re just fine thanks to the squishy siliconey strap liners I bought for $1 on clearance at Target, kind of like these but narrower.  The adhesive isn’t very strong and probably won’t stay put on the strap after another wearing or two, still worth it for a dollar to get a few more wearings out of these fun peep-toe shoes.  You can’t really tell in the picture, they’re classic lipstick red like my necklace with cork platform heels.
