Keepin’ it classy
What I Wore to Work Today: Mon, Jan 3, 2011
Cardigan: Target
Tank Top: Goodwill
Skirt: Goodwill, refashioned
Tights: Target
Lace-hem slip: Goodwill
Shoes: Payless
I finally wore this outfit that failed earlier because the skirt clung to the tights. I solved the problem by wearing the lacy-hemmed below-the-knee slip, the slip that I still haven’t shortened. Why isn’t it sticking out underneath this above-the-knee skirt? An excellent question, with an excellent answer: because I’m keeping it classy, my friends, keeping it classy.
I rolled/folded the elastic waistband until the slip was the length I wanted and then I safety-pinned it in place. That’s what we call mad skillz, folks. (Yes, of course I’m sucking in my stomach with vigor in those pictures. My waistband handiwork didn’t show against my shirt.)

Blazer & jeans « Rabbit Style News replied:
[…] I wore my Sophisticated Young Professional Blazer with jeans to the office and an after-work dinner at a Thai restaurant. I remembered once I was already at work that the back hems have gotten all ratty and torn-up and these jeans are supposed to be retired from office service, so I folded the hems under and stapled them secure. Yep, I have a sewing machine and some novice skills, and I’m still using staples and tape to tailor my clothes. I continue to keep it classy. […]
