Free clothes are my favorite kind
What I Wore to Work Today: August 15, 2011
Blouse: From a friend
Skirt: Goodwill, shortened
Shoes: Target
A friend’s sister gave her two garbage bags full of clothes that she didn’t wear anymore, now that she doesn’t work in an office setting and has a few toddlers and doesn’t wear the same size as she used to. The friend pulled out everything she wanted and handed the remaining garbage bag to me to pick through before she took it to Goodwill. I snagged a few tops, a pair of red jeans that I don’t think I’ll actually wear, and a lovely Ann Taylor dress. It’s strapless and black cotton with a few white details, and after hemming it a little shorter it will be great for one or two of the four weddings I’m attending this fall. (4!) It can be made work-appropriate with a cardigan or jacket, too.
Apparently lots of weddings happen when you’re 29 years old and it’s autumn. How soon before the baby showers start to pile up?
