Waking from hibernation
What I Wore to Work Today: Tuesday, June 12, 2012
Blouse: Mall store I don’t remember
Pants: Goodwill, $1 Thursday
Shoes: Payless
This past weekend was really productive. I did the dishes, I took out the garbage, I planted flowers and basil, I cooked food to last me through Wednesday, I swept the patio, I powered through the mending & refashioning pile, I evened exercised a little (ok, so only 20 minutes on the elliptical, which is still better than zero minutes on the elliptical).
This blouse periodically goes into hibernation, when yet another button falls off or a plastic diamond piece separates from its metal button anchor in the washing machine. It hangs in the Pending closet, forgotten, until I find it and take 15 minutes to replace any missing buttons yet again. And then it’s like I have a new blouse!
I haven’t actually done any refashioning to these clothes, and I’m tagging it “completed project” because of how many times I’ve re-sewed the buttons.
I’m the 30-year-old equivalent of a toddler who gets really excited when you give them a “new” toy to play with that has actually just been put away on a top shelf for a few months while other toys are in rotation.
