Whooping cough is for suckers
What I Wore to Work Today: Monday, October 8, 2012
Tshirt: Target, new
Pants: Goodwill, $1 Thursday
Shoes: Payless
Earrings: Garage sale
I had an appointment for a pile of regular basic doctory stuff for $25 copay, thanks to my health insurance plan’s coverage. Sure, they’re just doing it to encourage cheap preventative care instead of expensive treatment and crisis management down the line, which is fine by me.
I got my first flu shot because she said, “Do you want a flu shot?” and I said, “Ok”. Also, I’m 30 now and maybe shouldn’t rely so heavily on being young and fit and in denial about the reality of infectious disease. It felt like a little flame of fire shooting into my arm, a surprisingly loud pain. I also got a tetanus shot since it had been ten years since my last one. Nothing for you to see here, diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis, you better move right along because somebody got herself a DTaP vaccination!
